In association with the 2018 INHSU Conference in Portugal, we held a Joint Action Policy Day at the Portuguese National Parliament. The day was cohosted with the UNITE Network, a global network of parliamentarians committed to ending infectious diseases as a global health threat.
The session focused on integrating drug user health, drug policy, and hepatitis C prevention and care for people who use drugs, and brought together a community of people working together to eliminate hepatitis C.
The meeting ended with the launch of the ‘Global Declaration to Eliminate Hepatitis C in People Who Use Drugs: A call for political leaders to take action’. This declaration was supported by a wide range of organisations.
